The Women On Target® Postal Matches are conducted
annually, January 1 through December 27. The match is open to all
female shooters, regardless of age, but each shooter may only enter
once per calendar year. Membership in the NRA is not required but
is encouraged. Click here for the postal match conditions, rules,
and more information.
A postal
match is an exciting and easy way to participate in national
competition, but on an informal basis. You - and maybe a friend or
two - shoot the specified course of fire at your home or local
range, and mail (hence, the name postal) your score results to the
NRA. NRA then ranks all the participants' scores across the country
and distributes awards based on the number of participants that
enter each match.
We have annual Women On Target® postal matches for
all of your favorite firearms - pistol (rimfire match, centerfire
match), rifle (smallbore match, highpower match), and shotgun (trap
match, skeet match, sporting clays/5-stand match). Participate in
one discipline, two, or all three!
Ladies - come join us for this year's
Women On Target® Postal Matches!

As a
relatively new shooter, the NRA Women on Target postal match was my
first experience in an organized match. I felt comfortable
participating in a match that was composed of all women. I can't
thank the club members enough for their time and effort organizing
this event and the NRA for providing a venue that encourages women
to get to the range and shoot.

I took part in Women on Target Postal Matches
for the first time in 2012. I shoot at Shongum Sportsmen's Club in
New Jersey, and some of the people at the range ran the program. My
favorite type of shooting is rapid fire! I took up shooting several
years ago and wish I had started when I was much younger. I
recommend shooting to many younger women I know. Every time I go to
the range I learn something new. I think it's very important to
practice with my pistols and learn as much as I can. The range
members are a wealth of information and are always willing to take
the time to guide and teach. I will definitely participate in the
Women on Target Postal matches again. Thanks to the NRA for
providing the opportunity!

I have worked the smallbore rifle matches at
Camp Perry for 11 years and am an NRA Certified Instructor and
Range Safety Officer. I love to shoot and teach other women to
shoot. I am a Patron member of the NRA and have entered the postal
matches three other times. I never thought that at 76 I could come
in first!

As
a full time college student, a member of Sigma Kappa sorority, a
volunteer for a number of organizations, and President of the
Oregon State University Rifle Club, I don't always have time to
compete as much as I'd like to. However, I have found that the NRA
Women on Target® National Postal Matches give me back
this opportunity because the matches are on my time, rather than on
a league schedule. Not only do they let me compete more, but they
are fun and welcome shooters of all skill levels-from beginning
shooters to experienced shooters, these matches offer something for
everyone!
Thank you to NRA for hosting the
match, and to the San Leandro Junior Optimist Rifle Club for
introducing me to the NRA Women on Target® National Postal Matches.
I had a blast participating and I look forward to doing this again
next year!

I
would like to thank the NRA for putting on the annual Woman on
target National Postal Matches. I had a lot of fun shooting with my
club, family, and friends. The Woman On Target program is a great
way to get ladies interested in this sport! I would also like to
thank everyone at the San Leandro Jr Optimist Club for all their
support.

Once again I am honored to have been able
to compete in the NRA's Women On Target® National Postal
Matches. My, how the competition has grown! Just by looking at all
the ladies that entered, it's obvious the word has gotten out.
There can be no doubt to anyone
within the shooting industry that women's participation in shooting
sports is growing, and much of the thanks for that goes to the
NRA.

Thank you NRA for providing such a wonderful
shooting opportunity for women throughout the United States to
compete nationally in the Women on Target® National
Postal Matches. This allows people such as myself - a wife and
mother of four children - the opportunity to shoot at a local
range, and thus be able to compete nationally, without all the
traveling and other expenses that would otherwise make it
impossible for me to participate.
I had a fabulous time shooting and
look forward to competing again this year. I encourage any and all
who shoot in any of the venues available in the Women on Target
Postal Matches to compete and give it a shot! Who knows; you might
have what it takes to win
it all. Remember to always have fun, be safe, smile, and good Luck
with your shooting!

I'm proud to represent Texas DIVAS-Women
Outdoors Worldwide organization in the Women on Target®
National Postal Match competition. Thanks to the NRA Women on
Target® programs, we have the opportunity to compete
with women across the nation, and to introduce more women to the
shooting sports.
I have only been shooting a few
years, and this was my first formal competitive event. Shooting
competitively has always been an objective of mine and I'm already
planning for next year. Good coaching, a lot of practice and the
moral support of my DIVAS paid dividends for me!
Plus, I'm so excited that I won 3rd
Place … I don't even have the good sense to be humble!!!

NRA Women on Target® National Postal
Matches are a creative competition to involve women shooting across
our country! The DIVAS realized this was a wonderful way we could
enter individually while shooting together. I encourage women to
get involved shooting and participating on any level at your local
range.
I look forward to entering more
categories in the next NRA Women on Target® National
Postal Matches.
A Special Thanks to Marietta Johnson,
DIVA and NRA Life Member for introducing our organization to NRA
Women on Target Postal Matches.

I
first learned about NRA Women on Target® National Postal
Matches from Judy Rhodes, founder of DIVAS-Women Outdoors
Worldwide. The idea of shooting at the local range with some of my
girlfriends appealed to me.
I plan on participating in more
categories this year! We started the last month of the season. I'm
looking forward to starting early this year and enjoying the sunny,
warm days of practicing!
Shooting during Texas winter
conditions in December … Marksmanship is best learned under adverse
conditions!

The
Women on Target® National Postal Matches are an amazing
way to reach out to all parts of the country. So many women shoot
and this is one way to show what they're made of. I liked the fact
that I could shoot at my leisure and at my own range. I would
definitely enter the match again. I hope we get more women for next
year!

Thanks
for the opportunity to share with others. I think that the NRA
Women on Target® National Postal Matches offer a great
opportunity for shooters to showcase their skills. I enjoy any
chance to shoot but it is especially enjoyable among peers. I
believe that this is a good venue for promoting the NRA to women.
Keep up the good work.
